Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Texas Education Agency Paraprofessional Educational Aide Certificate.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities and follow instructions.
• Good communication and familiarity with standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teacher with instructional and self-help activities.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain orderly classroom environment and assist with records.
• Provide orientation to substitute teachers and support staff.
• Assist with student transfer, mobility, and personal care as needed.
• Supervise students during lunchroom, bus, and play areas.
