Job summary

Ruidoso High School is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide specialized instruction, ensure compliance with special education regulations, and uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include case management, IEP/BIP development, data-driven instruction, and collaboration with general education staff. Strong communication with families is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid New Mexico Special Education Teaching License or eligibility.
• Experience teaching high school preferred.
• Knowledge and implementation of PBIS.
• Experience with students with emotional, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Understanding of inclusive practices.
• Experience collaborating with families.
• Proficiency with instructional and educational technology.
• Strong reading, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to high school students with disabilities.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students.
• Develop, write, and implement IEPs.
• Develop, write, and implement BIPs as needed.
• Conduct IEP meetings and maintain compliant documentation.
• Monitor student progress and use data to adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations.
• Communicate with parents and guardians.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Support a structured, safe, and academically focused classroom environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
