Job summary

OTHELLO HIGH SCHOOL, part of the Othello School District 147, seeks a 2026-2027 Softball Assistant Coach to support the varsity program. Responsibilities include instructing players on rules and techniques, organizing practice activities, monitoring players during games and practices, and assisting with equipment, team events, and communications with players and families.

Minimum qualifications include high school diploma and prior softball coaching or playing experience; First Aid/CPR per WIAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous softball coaching or playing experience.
• First Aid/CPR certification.
• WIAA trainings/compliance required.
• OSD Type II Driver License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct players in rules, regulations, equipment and techniques.
• Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities.
• Monitor players during competition and practice; report to Director of Athletics.
• Determine game strategy and manage team during events.
• Distribute uniforms, supplies and equipment to student athletes.
• Attend trainings or meetings as required by the Director of Athletics.
