Job summary

Sierra Vista Unified School District is seeking enthusiastic soccer assistant coaches for Buena High School for the 2026-2027 school year. Two positions are available to support varsity programs and student athletes in a structured eligibility framework.

Coaches will implement PBIS strategies, maintain records, and ensure safe facilities while upholding discipline and sportsmanship in line with district policies and AIA rules.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain NFHS Level I Certification.
• Ability to successfully complete NFHS course titled "Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors".
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate or Arizona Coaching Certificate - optional.
• Knowledge, skill and or experience in PBIS strategies or willingness to receive training.

Responsibilities

• Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice in season.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and oversee penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
