Job summary

Traverse City Area Public Schools is seeking a High School Science Teacher for West Senior High School, starting second semester of the 2026/27 school year (January 25, 2027). This full-time position involves delivering district-approved science curricula and maintaining a productive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education or approved alternative path.
• Must be highly qualified in the subject matter.
• Valid Michigan secondary Science certificate or endorsement.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated success in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teaches district-approved high school science curriculum.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes as scheduled.
• Plans a program of study meeting student needs and abilities.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment and manages behavior.
• Evaluates student progress and maintains records.
• Be available to students/parents outside instructional time.
• Supervises classroom, students and volunteers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
