Job Summary

Teaches subject matter and skills to all students, contributing to their development as mature, knowledgeable, and responsible learners. Candidates should demonstrate mastery of the subject, adhere to common core standards, manage classrooms effectively, work well within a high-performing team, and possess an entrepreneurial approach to teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of state and district curriculum and standards, including understanding of adolescent learning and development;
  • Create a respectful, nurturing classroom environment for a diverse student population;
  • Use a variety of instructional methods to promote critical thinking, exploration, and leadership;
  • Reflect on and improve teaching practices based on student learning and growth;
  • Exhibit leadership, advocate for students, and uphold high ethical standards;
  • Use assessments to monitor and promote student academic growth and improve instruction accordingly;

  • Be organized, prepared, and punctual;
  • Manage resources, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments;

Qualifications - Required
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • Teaching license not required but must pass MTEL exams within 1 year of hire;
  • Background checks including CORI clearance and fingerprinting;
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. from the first day of employment.
Qualifications - Preferred
  • Master's degree;
  • Massachusetts Teaching License in the relevant content area with SEI endorsement;
  • Experience in an urban school district.

This position is part of the FRCSTA Collective Bargaining Unit. Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Benefits include health and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, two personal days, nine sick days, and a 403(b) retirement plan with matching contributions.
