Job Description
Reports to: Principal of the Building of Assignment
Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Provides instruction in the assigned subject in an atmosphere that implements the philosophies of the district, school, and program.
- Learning Environment: Maintains an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Lesson Planning: Prepares and maintains a plan of classwork and procedures to meet performance objectives and instructional aims. Organizes and structures materials for effective time utilization. Plans lessons and implements activities aligned with the course of study and students' entry-level skills. Allows student participation in designing and selecting instructional activities.
- Student Well-being: Attends to the health, safety, and well-being of students.
- Assistance: Provides support in supervision of students in curricular and co-curricular programs both in and outside the school, care of facilities and equipment, and preparation of records, reports, and student evaluations.
- Individual Support: Offers individual assistance in studies, personal matters when appropriate, educational and vocational decision-making, and recognition and referral of learning disabilities.
- Professional Development: Strives to improve performance through curriculum planning, professional meetings, in-service activities, selection of instructional materials, setting and achieving annual targets, and performance evaluation.
- Collaboration: Works interdependently with all school personnel to foster a positive climate for personal growth of staff and students.
- Parent Engagement: Cooperates with parents or guardians via conferences, parent-teacher organizations, and other meetings.
- Support for Educational Program: Seeks understanding and supports the Plain Local educational program.
- Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
