Compass High School is seeking a Science teacher to join our faculty in August for the 2025-2026 school year. Compass specializes in the education of students with learning differences. Compass is a small school with a high level of teamwork and collaboration among its faculty. Parents are involved and supportive.

The successful candidate will be able to teach high school Science classes in a hands-on and engaging way. The classes include Physics, Chemistry, Biology along with possible science electives, such as Botany or Astronomy. The candidate will be comfortable teaching to students who range in ability and learning styles. Experience and proficiency in teaching remedial skills in an active manner is important. We are looking for a teacher who is creative, who uses multisensory teaching techniques, and who provides a structured and fun classroom environment. A California special education teaching credential or progress towards one is preferred.Successful teachers are flexible, understanding and have the ability to teach the same concept in several ways.

Compass High School is a nonprofit private school for students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds who have learning differences. The mission of Compass High School is to provide a supportive, individualized, college preparatory program to help students develop their full academic potential. We focus on learning strategies, social competence, and self-advocacy to give students the knowledge and self-confidence they need to succeed.
