Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking an athletic coach to mentor students, uphold character values, and oversee daily operations of practices and competitions across school sports.

The role requires active presence at practices, games, and travel, enforcing sport rules, and collaborating with staff on discipline, facilities, and equipment management, while safeguarding participants and school property.

• Mentor students to promote development and demonstrate core character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
• Monitor students' grades and conduct continuously.
• Be present at all practices, games, and travel to provide assistance, guidance and safeguard for each participant.
• Explain training rules and any unique regulations of the sport to each participant.
• Determine discipline, outline due process procedures when enforcement is necessary, and communicate with parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.
• Participate in budgeting with athletic director by establishing requirements for the next season and equipment guidelines.
• Accountable for all equipment and collect costs for lost or not returned, issue and store equipment, and maintain inventory records.
• Mark and identify all equipment before issuing or storing.
• Allow students only in authorized areas of the building at appropriate times.
• Secure doors, lights, windows and locks when leaving if custodians are not on duty.
• Instill in each player respect for equipment and school property, its care and proper use.

FINANCE AND EQUIPMENT:

1. 1. Participates in the budgeting function with the athletic director by establishing requirements for the
2. next season. Recommends equipment guidelines as to type, style, color or technical specifications.
3. Is responsible for operating within budget appropriations.
4. 2. Is accountable for all equipment and collects the cost of any equipment lost or not returned.
5. Arranges for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and
6. current records concerning same.
7. 3. Properly marks and identifies all equipment before issuing or storing.
8. 4. Permits studentto only be in authorized areas of the building at the appropriate times.

PUBLIC RELATIONS:
