High School - Physics - TEACHER (9-12) 2025-2026

The Family Life Academy Charter Schools, based in the South Bronx, are seeking a dedicated Physics Teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2025-2026 school year. Our mission is to empower students academically and socially, fostering a safe and inclusive environment where all students can excel and develop leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement rigorous, standards-based, and culturally relevant lesson plans aligned with NYS Science Learning Standards and Next Generation Learning Standards.
  • Utilize student-centered instructional strategies to engage diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English Language Learners.
  • Collaborate with special education and ESL teachers to support student needs through co-teaching and differentiation.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction to improve learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and high academic standards.
  • Grade student work promptly, provide constructive feedback, and communicate progress to families.
  • Participate in professional development and school-wide activities to continually improve teaching practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • New York State Certification in Physics (grades 7-12).
  • Experience teaching in urban settings is preferred.
  • Dual certification in ESOL or Students with Disabilities is a plus.
  • Must pass NYS fingerprint clearance and background checks.
