About The Team
For this Physics Teacher position, you’ll work at our high school in center city Philadelphia called Freire Charter High School (9th-12th Grade). Founded in 1999 as the flagship campus, 100% of the Class of 2024 were accepted to college, earning nearly $8 million in scholarships and financial aid. The school’s rigorous, creative curriculum and comprehensive supports help students thrive academically and emotionally.

What you’ll do

As part of Freire’s instructional team, you’ll utilize a standards-aligned curriculum to foster critical thinking and high achievement.

Responsibilities

1. Create and maintain a classroom culture of critical thinking, respect, and high achievement.
2. Develop learning materials that promote problem solving and content mastery.
3. Communicate regularly with families about student progress and school updates.
4. Participate in professional development and collaborate with staff to support students.
5. Opportunities to serve as CREW Leaders, focusing on SEL and community building, are available.

Pay and Benefits

Salary range: $50,000 - $85,000, based on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 5% company contribution.
