POSITION OVERVIEW: High School Music Teacher (Full Time) – Deering High School, 25-26 SY
Portland Public Schools is looking for an experienced Music Teacher (emphasis on instrumental, band, and/or strings) to teach music electives to students at Deering High School, and to support the Musical Theatre course / production as the musical director. A successful candidate will be able to create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in their appreciation of music. Courses taught by the Music Teacher may include the following based on the candidates’ strengths: Band, Orchestra, Musical Theater, and Introductory courses in Guitar, Piano, Ukulele, and Digital Music.
