Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or the applicable content area required.
• Master’s degree and/or prior teaching experience preferred.
• Active Tennessee teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in the applicable endorsement area preferred.
• Experience working with diverse student populations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive, engaging high school learning environment.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to Tennessee standards and course objectives.
• Differentiate instruction for diverse student needs.
• Use data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
• Integrate literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving across instruction.
• Connect learning to authentic real-world experiences including agriculture, STEM, leadership, and athletics when appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school improvement initiatives.
• Assess student learning using formative and summative measures.
• Communicate progress with students, families, and staff.
• Maintain lesson plans, grades, and attendance accurately.
• Participate in professional development and school events.
• Support summer learning opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
• Assist with student supervision and contribute to school culture.
