Job Description

Perform functions to instruct students on established curriculum, ensuring each individual gains the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to become successful contributing citizens in an ever-changing world. This is a long-term substitute position.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and instruct students following District and state standards aligned curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans and set goals that meet District expectations.
  • Modify lessons, curriculum, materials, and resources to meet individual student needs and varying levels of progress.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress, administer standardized tests, and interpret data to inform instruction.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students regarding progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to plan and integrate instruction across classrooms and subjects.
  • Work with support teachers and specialists to address individual student needs and learning issues.
  • Assign work to student teachers and volunteers, providing feedback and assessment.
  • Participate in school and district committees, providing feedback and acting as a liaison.
  • Set clear classroom expectations, manage the learning environment, and apply positive behavior supports.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
  • Create a safe, positive learning environment and serve as a role model.
  • Enforce school policies and philosophies with students and parents.
  • Engage in professional development and incorporate best practices.
  • Participate in events outside regular hours, such as orientations and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with secondary endorsements in Math (K-12). Additional endorsements are preferred.

Compensation

$300.00 per day starting from the first day of the assignment.

Work Environment

High School setting.
