Job summary

LEAP Academy University Charter School in Camden, New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher for grades 9-12 for the 2026/2027 school year. The ideal candidate will deliver standards-aligned instruction, analyze data to differentiate instruction, collaborate with staff and families, and contribute to LEAP's mission of Every Child, Every Classroom, Every Day.

The position offers a 10-month contract with a starting salary of $60,000 and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid or eligible New Jersey teaching certification in Mathematics.
• Experience teaching mathematics, preferably in a K12 or similar educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content, curriculum, and research-based instructional strategies.
• Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction and monitor student progress.
• Strong classroom management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate and scaffold instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Commitment to supporting students' analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned mathematics instruction using research-based teaching strategies.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Assess student learning through formal and informal assessments and use data to guide instruction.
• Analyze student work and assessment results to identify learning needs and develop appropriate interventions.
• Differentiate, sequence, and scaffold mathematics instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to strengthen mathematics instruction across the Lower School.
• Model effective mathematics instructional strategies and provide support to colleagues as needed.
• Participate in Instructional Support Team reviews and assist with intervention planning for students who are struggling academically.
• Collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Team and grade-level teams to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
• Support school improvement and accountability goals related to mathematics achievement.
• Maintain accurate and timely student records, grades, reports, and other required documentation.
• Establish positive and professional relationships with students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in required meetings, professional development, workshops, and school activities.
• Uphold school policies, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
• Promote a positive attitude toward mathematics, academic achievement, and lifelong learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
