Job summary

Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks an exceptional high school math teacher to join our diverse community of students and educators.

The role requires strong planning, instructional delivery, data-informed practice, and alignment with state standards; applicants must meet RIDe Secondary Grades Math certification and achieve Structured Literacy Awareness within one year of hire.

Starting date is immediate, reports to the Principal, and employment is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Secondary Grades Mathematics Teacher certification (Grades 6-12) per RIDe requirements.
• Structured Literacy Awareness Level within one year of hire (preferred or required).

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active and engaging learning.
• Instruct and monitor students using relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives and provide feedback on assignments.
• Manage classroom behavior in a warm, welcoming, and culturally relevant environment.
• Use data to observe and evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and families regarding progress and needs.
• Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings and professional development.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests and assignments according to state standards.
