Job summary

ChanceLight Education seeks a Math Teacher to join its Ombudsman Educational Services' program in Chicago. The role focuses on delivering targeted instruction, developing plans, and differentiating approaches to meet diverse student needs in an alternative education setting.

The ideal candidate holds a valid IL educator credential or is in the credentialing process, with experience teaching high school math in alt ed and knowledge of IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Licensed IL state educator credential (PEL) or in progress.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience teaching mathematics in high school, preferably in alt ed.
• Familiar with IEPs and at-risk student needs.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging math instruction using diverse materials.
• Develop daily lesson plans aligned with standards.
• Differentiate instruction with support staff.
• Maintain classroom management and a safe environment.
• Communicate with parents about student progress.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional growth.
• Track student progress and adjust practices accordingly.
• Stay current with educational research and tech tools.
• Respond to evaluations and feedback constructively.
• Support Ombudsman/ChanceLight mission and program services.
