Overview

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Math Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2025-26 school year. This position requires a passion for mathematics and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable and engaging manner to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematical principles and a commitment to helping students achieve both academic success and a deeper appreciation for math.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Curriculum Development and Instruction:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with state standards and fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Utilize various teaching methods and technological tools to enhance student learning and engagement in mathematics.
  2. Student Assessment:
    • Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and understanding of mathematical concepts.
    • Provide personalized feedback and support to students, adapting instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
  3. Classroom Management:
    • Create a positive, organized, and productive learning environment conducive to learning and performing mathematical tasks.
    • Maintain discipline and encourage good practices regarding punctuality, behavior, standards of work, and homework.
  4. Professional Development:
    • Stay current with the latest educational research and pedagogical strategies in mathematics education.
    • Participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and maintain subject matter expertise.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with other teachers, school administrators, and the math department to discuss student progress and curriculum effectiveness.
    • Engage with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their children’s progress and ways they can support their learning at home.
  6. Extracurricular Involvement:
    • Sponsor or participate in math-related extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions.
    • Encourage and support students in applying their mathematical knowledge in practical and real-world scenarios.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education with a concentration in Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Valid PA teaching certification with an endorsement in Mathematics.
  • Proven experience as a Math Teacher at the middle school or high school level.
  • Strong command of mathematical concepts and a passion for teaching mathematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination.
