Job summary

Esperanza Cyber Charter School is seeking a mission-driven High School Math Teacher to join the Main Office team. The role supports students in grades 9–12 through a rigorous online program with curricular alignment and virtual/in-person tutoring.

The position emphasizes equity and collaboration with families and staff. The ideal candidate holds PA teaching certification, has urban experience with ELD/SPED populations, and is committed to flexible, student-centered instruction in a cyber

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish and English preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in the subject area.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an urban setting with high percentages of ELD and SPED students.

Responsibilities

• Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students.
• Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum.
• Document all lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods.
• Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom.
• Virtual classroom management creates, monitors, and sustains a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards.
• Provide virtual structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations.
• Ensure smooth operation of all virtual classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions.
• Develop engaging and interactive synchronous and asynchronous lesson plans.

QUALIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working.
• Constant hand, finger, and arm use, and excellent eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to hear clearly and speak intelligibly.
• To occasionally function in activities involving walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing stairs.
• To occasionally stand for extended periods.
• Ability to see and perform visual activities such as closing paperwork, using a computer monitor, reading, and writing.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to come onsite for all required days.
