Job summary

Wayne Hills High School in Wayne, NJ, is seeking a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) to support the Child Study Team with evaluation, case management, and IEP development.

The LDTC will collaborate with staff and parents to determine eligibility and appropriate services, maintain confidential records, and contribute to ongoing student progress monitoring under the district's special services framework.

Qualifications

• Case management on a high school child study team.
• Ability to conduct and interpret educational evaluations with various assessments.
• Interpretation of independently administered and state/local group assessments.

Responsibilities

• Completes all functions required of a Child Study Team member.
• Conducts and interprets educational evaluations using a variety of assessments.
• Interprets and evaluates independently administered educational assessments and state/local group assessments.
• Provides consultation to staff and parents regarding best instructional practices and classroom management.
• Works with staff to determine student eligibility and appropriate programs and services.
• Completes IEPs for students eligible for special education and related services.
• Monitors student progress relative to classroom performance, grades, behavior and IEP goals.
• Serves as a liaison to classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and related services providers.
• Maintains confidential records on all referred students.
• Functions as a case manager for classified students.
• Participates on the school's Intervention and Referral Services Team.
• Provides thorough reports and data to the Supervisor of Special Services and Director of Student Support Services.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.
