Job summary

Auburn High School in Auburn, MA is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students and staff across classrooms and activities. This role reports to classroom or special educators for daily assignments and evaluations, and to building leadership through those teachers.

Responsibilities include reinforcing learning, modifying lessons under supervision, assisting with materials, attending TEAM meetings, and supporting administrators and teachers to promote student progress.

Qualifications

• Trained in ANV (Applied Non-Violent Restraint) as required by the district.
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred or demonstrated specialized knowledge.
• Meets Highly Qualified Standards per NCLB as applicable.
• Experience in working within an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to students and staff in classrooms and across environments.
• Plans and provides modified lessons under direct supervision of educators or specialists.
• Attends parent conferences and TEAM meetings as requested.
• Administers assessments to individuals or small groups as needed.
• Substitutes for teachers as requested and supports in developing reinforcement programs.
