Position Summary - History Teacher

Covington Latin School, a college-preparatory institution rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, is seeking a passionate and dynamic History Teacher to join our faculty. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging instruction, a commitment to academic excellence, and a dedication to fostering a deep appreciation for history and the liberal arts.

As part of a close-knit educational community that emphasizes accelerated learning, classical education, and character development, the History Teacher will guide students through historical analysis, critical thinking, and meaningful discourse. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging lessons in history, emphasizing analytical skills, historical context, and critical thinking.

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with students and parents.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary connections and support student learning.

• Contribute to the broader school community through extracurricular activities, committees, or clubs.

Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s
preferred).
* Teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
* Commitment to the school’s classical, Catholic educational mission.

Preferred Experience
* Prior experience teaching in an accelerated or gifted environment.
