The Lansing School District is seeking a part-time Forestry Program Coordinator to oversee hands-on forestry and outdoor learning for high school students across district sites.

You will guide peer mentors, connect classroom learning with real-world forestry projects, and coordinate partner programs to provide meaningful experiences while ensuring safety and alignment with school goals.

Formación

• Experience in forestry, environmental education, landscaping, natural resources, or a closely related field.
• Experience working with high school students.
• Ability to lead hands‑on outdoor activities.
• Ability to teach and reinforce workplace and outdoor safety practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, families, and community partners.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to pass required school district background and employment requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and supervise high school forestry peer mentors.
• Plan and lead hands‑on forestry work experiences for students.
• Develop age‑appropriate forestry activities for younger students.
• Coordinate forestry and beautification projects at district sites.
• Teach safe outdoor work practices and supervise tool use.
• Maintain schedules, records, and partnerships with community forestry partners.
• Support student leadership development and career exploration in forestry.
• Assist with transportation and logistics for off‑site activities.
