Job summary

Blacksburg High School seeks a part-time Forensics Director to organize and supervise the school's competitive forensics program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves coaching students in speech, debate, interpretation, and other events, ensuring compliance with VHSL rules.

The director reports to the principal, collaborates with administration and sponsors, and helps develop communication, critical thinking, and public speaking skills in students while maintaining a safe educational

Qualifications

Experience in competitive forensics, speech, debate, theatre, public speaking, or a related area preferred.
Experience coaching high school students preferred.
Strong communication and feedback skills required.

Responsibilities

Organize and supervise the school's forensics program.
Instruct and guide students for VHSL and tournament rules.
Direct practices, travel, and competitions; manage student entries.
Collaborate with administration, coaches, parents, and sponsors.
Promote skills like critical thinking, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a safe environment.
