Job summary

Sylvania seeks an Assistant Football Coach to support the high school athletic program in Alton, IL. The role involves on- and off-season duties under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, including planning practices, organizing tryouts, and coordinating fundraisers and schedules.

Qualified applicants must have a teaching certificate or ASEP certification and pass a district background check and drug test.

Qualifications

Must hold a teaching certificate or ASEP certification.
Must pass ACUSD #11 background check and drug test and complete all employment forms.
Understand the basic skills of the individual sport (football).

Responsibilities

Preseason duties: size and order uniforms and equipment; distribute uniforms; plan, organize and coach summer practices; manage fundraisers to defray costs; manage schedules; complete IHSA rules review and NFHS concussion training; provide first aid; recruit.
Tryouts: post information; hold informational meetings; track applications and forms; set up and manage tryouts.
Season: follow all guidelines; hold parent meetings; arrange transportation; maintain eligibility rosters; manage uniforms; supervise practices; ensure transfer eligibility; attend games home/away; organize homecoming activities; maintain student-athlete records.
Post-Season: collect, wash and store uniforms; complete inventory; submit fine cards; assist with letters and awards; assess year and plan improvements; attend evaluation meeting.
