Douglas High School is seeking an Assistant Football Coach to help build a comprehensive 9-12 football program. The role emphasizes growth of athletes, academic support, and effective communication with players, coaches, parents, and administration.

The position requires NFHS certification, First Aid/CPR/AED, background checks, and OSAA/ODE certifications. The coach will focus on off-season development and supporting other Douglas High School teams.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the game of Football that will allow growth for the student- athlete and the overall program
• Applicants need to demonstrate, model and teach strong work ethic, provide academic support, be a team and individual character builder, demonstrate organization skills in practice planning and communicate effectively with players, coaches, parents and school administration.

Responsibilities

• Help build a successful 9-12 football program and oversee all facets of the program
• Be a role model for high school student athletes.
• Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports by encouraging athletes to compete in winter and spring athletic programs.
• Help develop and implement an off-season and summer program.
• Monitor the academic progress and attendance of the football players.
• Lead football coaches and players in the support of other Douglas High School teams and events.
• Be a team player among all coaches in the athletic program.
