Job summary

Gresham-Barlow School District in Oregon is seeking an Assistant Football Coach for the high school program. The role supports the head coach with leadership, supervision and practice coordination to foster student development and athletic growth.

The ideal candidate will have coaching experience, knowledge of sports rules, strong communication with students, parents, and staff, and a commitment to safety and program policies. ASEP certification is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching or sport activity must be relevant to the assigned sport.
• Ability to work with coaches, students and parents; follow district policies and procedures.
• High-school diploma or equivalent required; ASEP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in coordinating practices and game-day operations.
• Demonstrate basic skills, knowledge and strategies to participants; explain to parents when appropriate.
• Enforce program policies and safety rules; maintain equipment and inventory.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students and staff; contribute to fundraising and programs.
