Job summary
Safe Passages is seeking an Academic Enrichment Instructor for its after-school program in Oakland. The role focuses on high school-aged youth, delivering age-appropriate activities to build skills and keep students connected to the school community during out-of-school time.
Sessions are in-person and supervised by the Expanded Learning Program Site Coordinator and After School Program Specialists. Specializations may include Sports & Athletics, S.T.E.A.M., or Academic Support based on program
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills for interacting with teens and families.
- Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
- Experience instructing youth in an urban school setting is valued.
- Ability to develop and implement weekly lesson plans.
- Comfort with using Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Responsibilities
- Ensure program safety by following site and policy rules.
- Instruct enrichment activities in SEL, STEAM, health/sports, and leadership.
- Lead sport or STEAM activities as assigned.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans via Google Classroom.
- Help students prepare for showcases and events.
- Monitor student progress and gather feedback.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and trainings.
