Youth Connection Charter School (YCCS) is seeking a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic English/Language Arts Teacher (K-12) to join our small alternative high school. Since 1997, we have dedicated ourselves to serving off-track and out-of-school students, providing alternative pathways to high school graduation and career success.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, capable of engaging students in the learning process, and skilled in building mutual trust and positive relationships. They should know how to make learning engaging and meaningful, effectively utilize technology, and work collaboratively as part of our team to foster student success.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree and a Professional Educator’s license with Secondary English endorsement
  2. Teaching experience in a Blended Classroom
  3. Current Illinois Certification with subject area endorsement
  4. Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness towards our diverse student population
  5. Ability to partner with students individually, in families, or in groups to mobilize resources and address barriers to success
  6. Knowledge of principles and practices of staff, school, and organizational development
