Job summary

Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in Massachusetts seeks a long-term substitute for the Electronics and Engineering program, starting September 1, 2026, through early December or as coverage is needed. The role requires hands-on, project-based instruction for high school students in electronics and engineering technology.

Ideal candidates have electronics/engineering experience and may hold a DESE Chapter 74 license.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics, electrical engineering, robotics, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
• Prior teaching or training experience is preferred, especially in a vocational/technical environment.
• Ability to manage a project-based, hands-on classroom with diverse learners.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction in accordance with the Chapter 74 Electronics/Engineering framework and existing curriculum plans.
• Supervise students in both shop and classroom settings, ensuring a safe, productive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Support students in the development of technical skills such as circuit design and analysis, soldering and fabrication, robotics and automation, and digital/analog electronics.
• Implement ongoing projects and guide students through competencies already in progress.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grading.
• Collaborate with shop staff and uphold all school policies, safety procedures, and vocational program expectations.
