Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking a high school Supplemental Instruction Teacher for English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) at Waco High. The ideal candidate will provide students with engaging learning activities to support their growth in intellectual, emotional, physical, and social areas. This position requires a valid Texas teaching certificate and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing lesson plans, assessing student achievement, and creating a conducive classroom environment. Experience in student teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Ability to manage student behavior effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill curriculum requirements.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through testing.
