Job summary

Tutor Partners LLC is seeking an experienced high school English Language Arts tutor to provide in-person tutoring in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. This role offers meaningful, direct academic impact within a specialized educational setting.

The schedule runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm through the 2026-27 School Year, with pay at $20-30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or minimum 24 college credits required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with students in grades 6-12; juvenile justice or alternative education settings a plus.
• Strong content knowledge in high school ELA (reading, writing, grammar).
• Experience supporting English Learners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and push-in ELA support aligned to student needs during the school day (reading, writing, language development).
• Track and report student progress.
• Participate in instructional planning with teachers and school leaders, administer assessments, and coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with Tutor Partners staff and site personnel to coordinate scheduling and materials.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.

Tutor Partners is seeking an experienced, qualified high school English Language Arts (ELA) tutor to provide in-person tutoring services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, one of its Juvenile Court Schools. Pay Rate

$20-30 per hour

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or minimum of 24 college credits required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with students in grades 6-12; experience in juvenile justice or alternative education settings a plus
• Strong content knowledge in high school ELA, including reading comprehension, writing, and grammar
• Experience supporting English Learners (EL) is a plus
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to pass required background clearances (e.g., LiveScan/fingerprinting) as required by LACOE
• Reliable transportation to assigned site
