The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, through the 2026-27 school year. A background check is required and reliable transportation is needed for site visits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and push-in ELA support during school hours.

• Coordinate with Tutor Partners staff for scheduling and materials.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.

Position Overview

Tutor Partners is seeking an experienced, qualified high school English Language Arts (ELA) tutor to provide in-person tutoring services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at Afflerbaugh-Paige Camp, one of its Juvenile Court Schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct academic impact with students in a specialized educational setting.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, now through the end of the 2026-27 School Year

Pay Rate

$20-30 per hour

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or minimum of 24 college credits required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with students in grades 6-12; experience in juvenile justice or alternative education settings a plus
• Strong content knowledge in high school ELA, including reading comprehension, writing, and grammar
• Experience supporting English Learners (EL) is a plus
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to pass required background clearances (e.g., LiveScan/fingerprinting) as required by LACOE
• Reliable transportation to assigned site
