Candidates should hold NY State teaching certification, a Bachelor's in English (Master’s preferred), and at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in urban or low-income settings;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in English language and/or literature, creative writing, General Education or related field.
• Certification to teach in New York State.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, urban/low-income area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Commit to internalizing the provided curriculum to prepare every student for high school graduation and college success.
• Provide instruction utilizing rigorous lessons aligned with the Common Core.
• Differentiate instruction with small group work to support all learners.
• Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction.
• Lead advisories addressing social-emotional needs of scholars.
