Responsibilities

• Deep understanding of Tennessee ELA Standards; establish clear learning targets; build assessments; implement literacy practices following Hamilton County Schools’ framework: Equity, Expectations, Classroom Culture, Responsive Teaching.
• Build a safe, positive classroom culture fostering growth mindset and secure learning environment.
• Develop strong relationships with students’ families; inform and involve parents in learning.
• Participate in professional learning communities; reflect on instruction; contribute to school goals.

Qualifications

• High personal standards and integrity.
• Valid Tennessee teaching certification in 6-12 English or eligibility as a graduate in an approved program; out-of-state license holders must apply for Tennessee certification.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Compensation

Salary based on education and experience. May include additional compensation through the Differentiated Compensation Plan at eligible schools.
