Valor Collegiate Academies in Nashville, TN seeks an in‑person lead EL teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The role includes planning lessons under Valor’s EL framework for 9‑12 multilingual learners, collaborating with EL/SPED staff, and providing targeted instruction.

Starting salary is $56,794, with salaries set by teaching experience. Requirements include TN teaching license with ESL endorsement or active enrollment in a approved program, and legal authorization to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Must have an active Tennessee teaching license with an ESL PreK-12 endorsement, or be enrolled in an approved educator preparation program.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily lessons and activities using Valor’s EL framework for EL students in grades 9‑12 to improve accessibility of academic content.
• Collaborate with EL and Special Education teachers to provide appropriately accommodated grade‑level support.
• Prepare and scaffold materials, do nows, exit tickets, and homework; assess progress toward standards and identify gaps.
• Collect, enter, and analyze academic data to tailor instruction and interventions; engage in weekly 1:1 coaching and submit lesson plans weekly.
• Engage in weekly curriculum meetings; update gradebook and communicate progress with families and counselors.
• Enforce school values and participate in after‑hours events and other school duties as needed.
