Job summary

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, differentiating instruction, assessing learning, and collaborating with colleagues to meet district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting learning styles and needs of students.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Coordinate with staff to set instructional goals and methods.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Serve as sponsor for extracurricular activities as assigned.
