Job summary

The East Side Union High School District seeks a skilled Dance Coach to provide in-class instruction in hip-hop. The coach will support district high schools, work with a credentialed teacher, and contribute to diverse student bodies across sites.

Responsibilities include teaching hip-hop and other genres, preparing rehearsals, supporting performances, and collaborating with site staff to promote inclusive, high-quality dance education. Fingerprint clearance and TB test are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in teaching and choreographing hip-hop and at least one other genre (jazz, tap, ballet, or modern)
• Experience teaching high school-aged students in an educational or studio setting
• Degree or formal training in Dance or Performing Arts (preferred)
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred
• Familiarity with public school arts programs and working with diverse student populations
• Fingerprint clearance and TB test results required prior to employment

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-class dance coaching in collaboration with site dance teacher
• Teach technical skills, choreography, and performance readiness in hip-hop and additional genres (jazz, ballet, tap, modern)
• Choreograph or support student choreography for school productions and district events
• Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment
• Attend and assist in tech rehearsals and performances
• Communicate effectively with site staff, students, and families as needed
• Support costume planning, rehearsal management, and show logistics
• Assigned to District Dance courses; may teach at multiple sites
