Job summary

Austin Public School District is seeking a full-time Custodian at Austin High School. Work schedule: Monday–Friday 3:15pm–11:45pm during the school year and 6:00am–2:30pm in the summer. The role covers general cleaning inside and outside the school to provide a safe, clean learning environment.

Candidate must complete a pre-employment physical and be eligible to work in an educational institution. The district emphasizes equity and a strong commitment to its communities.

Qualifications

• Experience performing general cleaning duties in a school or similar facility.
• Ability to follow cleaning schedules and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times (inside and outside).
• Cleans restrooms, classrooms, offices, gym, and common areas daily.
• Performs basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and moving furniture.
• Washes windows, walls, and common surfaces as needed.
• Assists with event setup and takedown; supports security and fire safety duties.
