Job summary

Bermudian Springs School District is hiring a Custodian for the 2:30 pm-11:00 pm shift during the school year and a summer shift from 6:00 am-2:30 pm. Staff are trained in cleaning procedures and work with a team to maintain district facilities.

Responsibilities include heavy-duty cleaning, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting restrooms, dusting and window cleaning, as well as mixing solutions and collecting trash. Benefits include health coverage, PSERS retirement, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform repetitive motions for up to 8 hours daily.
• Willingness to be trained and learn cleaning procedures.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy-duty cleaning, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and disinfecting restrooms; dust, and clean windows.
• Mix cleaning solutions as instructed.
• Collect trash and recyclables and maintain facilities as per district procedures.

Custodian Position

School term hours - 2:30 pm-11:00 pm for 180 plus days (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Summer hours - 6:00 am-2:30 pm for 81 plus days (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Job Description

• Person must be able to perform repetitive motions, including standing, walking, and bending, for up to 8 hours per day
• A person possesses good communication and time management skills
• A person should be self-motivated and task-oriented, who works well with team concepts
• Duties include but are not limited to: heavy-duty cleaning, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and disinfecting restrooms, supply facilities, dust, windows, and other duties described in our district cleaning procedure handbook
• A person should be able to mix cleaning solutions in preparation for cleaning according to instructions
• Gather trash and recyclables
• Experience is great, but not necessary; we will train
• We pair our new team members with experienced teams to train and introduce them to our style of cleaning

Pay Range

$15.80 - $16.30 based on experience. An additional $.40 will be paid when second shift hours are worked.
