Job summary

Peoria Unified School District is seeking a Certified Teacher for Liberty High School in Peoria, AZ. This 9-month position requires an AZ teaching certificate or eligibility, with a necessary IVP fingerprint clearance.

You will deliver creative lessons, assess students, and engage families to support student growth within the district’s safety and wellbeing standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona teaching certificate or eligibility to become certified in AZ.
• Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Background clearance as required by district policies.

Responsibilities

Student Success Manage and educate students while helping them discover and fulfill their potential

Set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and uphold District discipline policies

Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the regular instructional day when required or requested under reasonable terms

Maintain accurate and complete records required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation
Strive to maintain and improve professional competence
Other duties as assigned

Requirements: A valid intern, provisional, or standard Arizona Teaching Certificate; or possess the necessary qualifications to become certified in the state of Arizona. Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Other Requirements:

• Specialized teaching assignments may require additional training and/or certification
• Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid government issued ID
• May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds
• May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds
• May be required to work outside normal working hours
• May be required to travel to perform work functions
