KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools is part of the KIPP national network. In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade
  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks to grow the career and technical program at our high school by adding a CTE instructor to our team. We seek teachers who are comfortable teaching anatomy and physiology, health science, and/or a combination of science coursework to students who are in years one through three of their CTE track in health science. Success will be measured by students gaining industry certification(s) at the end of their program.

As the school grows and we enroll more students, teachers will lead classes across multiple grade levels and/or sections, and ideally run a club or enrichment block.

We seek a teacher who will be committed to providing quality career and technical instruction that sets students up for college access and as such, the CTE teachers would ensure students are both exposed to rigorous and foundational health science material and can meet the state’s industry certification examination requirements.

This position would work closely with the electives department. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader.

Please note the location of Bold City High School is located at 1440 McDuff Avenue North.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000

  • To support teacher practice and their growth, all lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.
  • This offering is subject to change each school year. Terms would be outlined in an offer letter, if issued.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Relevant health science profession with a minimum of two to six total years of experience, depending on the role (examples include but are not limited to medial assistant, pharmacy, RN, LPN, etc.)
  • Relevant credential/license for health profession field and ability to maintain during employment

Highly Preferred Qualifications
