Job summary

Thornapple Kellogg High School in Middleville, Michigan is seeking a High School Cafeteria Helper to support the daily meal service for students and staff.

Hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and are for student days only. Position involves food prep, serving, dishwashing, and light cashier duties under the Food Service Director and Head Server.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Willingness to work as part of a team of professionals in a collaborative manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods to be served for breakfast and/or lunch.
• Assist with dishes, and general clean up of the dish area and other work areas as needed.
• Run register.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Ability to work in and contribute to a team-based environment.
• Use POS system to deduct breakfast and/or lunches from accounts, and make student and staff deposits.
• Help complete daily production records for foods prepared.
• Fill orders as needed.
• Follow all safety and sanitation requirements daily.
• Clean and sanitize equipment daily and at the end of the school year.
• Ability to fill in for other positions if needed.
• Responsible for any other related duties or jobs assigned by the Food Service Director and Head Server.
