Job summary

Wakefield Memorial High School in Wakefield, Massachusetts is seeking two building-based substitute teachers to join our school community. The substitute will follow the absent teacher's lesson plans, manage schedules, and maintain a positive learning environment while covering three days each week.

Experience in schools or with children is preferred, and ability to use Google Classroom and Chromebooks is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an undergraduate college/university degree.
• CORI/SORI criminal background check.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in assigned content and grade level, including SEI Endorsement if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage a classroom of students by keeping them on task and engaged.
• Assumes all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher.
• Follow lesson plans left by the classroom teacher.
• Supervise and ensure safety of students during classroom hours.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Leave feedback and notes for the regular classroom teacher.
• Assist with non-classroom duties when assigned.
