Qualifications

• Preference will be given to current certificated employees of Oakland Unified School District who possess a valid CA teaching credential.
• Fundamentals of Coaching (High School) – Does not expire
• Middle School Coaching – Does not expire
• Concussion in Sports – Expires every 3 years
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest – Expires every 2 years
• Heat Illness Prevention – Expires every 2 years
• CPR & FIRST AID from an instructor led class – Expires every 2 years
• Evidence of knowledge of coaching theory and techniques in the sport; may include college coursework, prior coaching experience, prior participation in the sport at the high school level, or inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach students in the sport indicated.
• Help arrange playing schedules.
• Perform/assist in all coaching responsibilities associated with the position.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings as specified by OAL.
