Job summary

Montville Township High School in Montville, NJ is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach for Spring 2027. The assistant coach will work under the head coach and director of athletics, contributing to the baseball program and student-athlete development.

The role requires NJ certification or substitute credential, CPR/AED and First Aid, NFHS coaching coursework, and a background check. It is a seasonal, stipend-only position with no health insurance or pension benefits, per the MTEA agreement.

Qualifications

Valid New Jersey Instructional Certification or NJ Substitute Credential (minimum 30 college credits).
Mandatory certifications before season start: CPR/AED and First Aid with blended/in-person component; NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion in Sports, Heat Illness Prevention, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Implicit Bias.

Responsibilities

Assist head coach in carrying out program duties and responsibilities.
Provide leadership in development and improvement of the baseball program; foster student-athletes' knowledge, sportsmanship, and motivation to excel on and off the field.
Maintain a positive learning environment and support student growth and development.
