Job summary

Cherry Creek School District seeks an assistant coach to instruct student athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training while fostering moral values and self-confidence. The role supports community relations and aligns with district and league guidelines.

The coach will report to the head coach and athletic director, schedule practices, monitor athlete status, and ensure eligibility. CPR/first aid and concussion protocol knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Assist with organizing and developing the high school program.
• Basic knowledge of baseball.
• Possess or acquire a valid Colorado Coaching Certificate.
• Pass CHSAA coaches test, CHSSA registration and concussion course.
• CPR & AED Certification required.

Responsibilities

• The assistant coach reports to the head coach and the athletic director.
• Supervises all aspects of the program at their level under direction of the head coach.
• Provides information to the head coach on scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, and inventory.
• Schedules and attends practice sessions; develops training plans by day, week, month, year.
• Ensures each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate.
• Complies with CCSD, Centennial League, and CHSAA rules.
• Monitors athlete attendance, behavior, and academic status.
• Ability to use approved first-aid and CPR skills.
• Understands concussion signs and removes players showing symptoms.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
