Job summary

Great Hearts Academies seeks an Athletic Coach to develop a competitive program and foster character in scholar-athletes at Glendale Preparatory Academy. The role emphasizes hard work, sportsmanship, and integrity in a supportive school setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling practices, managing uniforms and equipment, and coordinating with parents and staff. Evening and weekend availability is required, with opportunities to participate in postseason activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior coaching high school athletics experience is preferred.
• Playing experience at professional or collegiate level is a plus.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor student-athletes and foster character development.
• Strong interpersonal, motivational, and leadership skills; excellent organization.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct after-school practices approximately 5 days per week.
• Oversee uniforms, equipment care, and distribution.
• Support academics and character development in scholar-athletes.
• Serve as liaison between parents, administrators, and coaching staff.
• Attend coaching trainings and professional development sessions.
• Coaching during practices, games, and tournaments; coordinate post-season play.
