Job summary

Great Hearts Academies is seeking an Athletic Coach for North Phoenix Prep. The role supports a competitive program and character development, with duties spanning after-school practices, game days, and tournaments.

You will collaborate with parents, administration, and staff while mentoring scholar-athletes. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED (bachelor’s degree preferred) and experience coaching youth, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience coaching high school or middle school athletics.
• Proven ability to mentor student-athletes.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct after-school practices approximately 5 days per week.
• Advocate for academic curriculum and support character development initiatives.
• Serve as a liaison between parents, administration, and coaching staff.
• Attend coach training sessions and professional development meetings as required.
• Provide coaching during weekday and weekend practices, games, and tournaments.
• Manage team rosters, eligibility, and related administrative tasks.
• Abide by policies and procedures and employee handbook.
• Assist in organizing end-of-season activities, events, and team gatherings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
