Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to support high school athletic programs in the Niles area. The role includes managing treatment areas, coordinating with physicians, and ensuring safe return-to-play decisions for athletes.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, rehabilitation planning, and on-site coverage for practices and games. A CAATE-accredited degree and professional credentials are required, with licensing in Michigan preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program within bachelors or masters program
• Master’s Degree or equivalent completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program within bachelors or masters program
• Successful completion of competency based orientation program
• 1 year of relevant experience in athletic training
• BOC Certification as Athletic Trainer, Certified
• State of Michigan Athletic Trainer license upon hire
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC) required

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and document care per physicians’ directions
• Evaluate athletes’ condition and coordinate with team physicians and staff
• Maintain treatment headquarters and ensure facilities cleanliness
• Prepare players for practice and games with conditioning, taping and warm-up
• Assist in pre-season physical examinations and clearance for return to play
• Oversee rehabilitation and reconditioning following injuries
